Applied technology is one of my main interests - less the technology itself, more the impact it has upon how we live, work and play.
My active involvement in the real estate markets has drawn my research mainly into the area of the built environment, recording, analysing and evaluating the impact of different technologies upon space. Given that the built environment reflects the way we work and sometimes our aspirations for a decent context, this has proved a rich seam to work.
Although surveyors always draw attention to the physicality of space - the bricks and mortar - information and technology define much about the location and design of that space. In recent years my research has resolved into three main areas:

That said I am working on a project looking at the potential for micropower plants allowing any building of substance to generate its own power which doesn't fit neatly into any of these categories. Ho hum.
